The EU Directive on Packaging and Packaging Waste (94/62/EC) restricts the presence of certain heavy metals in packaging (mercury, lead, Hexavalent chromium and cadmium. The goal of EU Packaging Directive is to protect the environment from hazardous substances and materials. The EU Packaging Directive also includes requirements for registration, reporting, and recycling in each EU Member State. This EU Packaging Directive scope covers all household, commercial, and industrial packaging waste in the European Union market.
